Who We Are

"We are philosophers, teachers, theologians, guitarists, singers, dancers, poets, gardeners, accountants, artists, and spiritually interested people from around the world who believe, that when it comes to the soul, size matters."
--From The Fat Soul Manifesto

Fat Soul International began with our desire for a creative, fun,  and deeply meaningful way of exploring philosophy and life in light of current challenges such as climate change and religious fundamentalism.   We have many fat soul connections in the US and China--individuals and groups who are interested in not only ideas, but action on behalf of the planet, justice, peace, and inter-religious dialogue.  We all want to grow our souls, to deepen our connections, our compassion, and our joy.  We are both steeped  in the creative arts, as well as in the organic philosophy of Alfred North Whitehead.  We were particularly inspired by the work of  Whiteheadian theologian Bernard Loomer, whose essay "S-i-Z-E  is the Measure" inspired us.   We invite you to explore the many dimensions of Fat Soul with us!  --Patricia Adams Farmer and Jay B. McDaniel
